The cliff-borne lighthouse does not know the lives it saves at sea,
The hope it ignites in the eyes and hearts of weary travellers,
The danger it dispels, nor the comfort it conveys.
The lighthouse simply shines.
It dazzles the darkness with radiance, forever unaware,
That beyond the reach of its beams is a quiet world,
Grateful for the warm promise on a dark horizon.
