Support Us

Poetry in Action is a theatre company dedicated to bringing poetry to life through performance. We currently receive no state or federal government funding and are supported by our nominal cost ticket sales and the generosity of people like you. We can only continue to reach disadvantaged, regional and rural areas thanks to the support, enthusiasm and generosity of public and government bodies, charitable trusts and private individuals. Poetry in Action is a not-for-profit organisation and Registered Charity.  Donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible under Subdivision 30-B section 30-100 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. We have some big plans for the future which we love talking about so if you’d like to know more please contact us! If you would like to support Poetry in Action’s work in schools, regional Australia and our Artistic Development please click on the DONATE NOW button on the right or contact us to enquire about sponsorships or strategic partnerships.

What Teachers Say

Listen to teachers across Australia providing their feedback on Poetry in Action’s 2017 program!

                                      Starlight Shows

At Poetry in Action we love having the opportunity to share our shows beyond the classrooms, and it doesn’t get much better than performing for Starlight Kids!

In 2017 Team Nightingale and Team Raven took The Paper Tiger to Randwick and Westmead Children’s Hospitals (NSW) and Princess Margaret Hospital (WA).

Team Raven were lucky enough to have the Starlight Kids help them save the world from the Zombie Apocolypse today #teamraven
